Are Samples Really Worth It?

After reading another blog and the comments about samples, I thought I would start the debate on samples.

Here's the debate:

With today's technology allowing web surfers to view products and a business presentation online, are we wasting our money and time with those who request samples and catalogs?

What's your feedback and experience?

I don't think actual samples are ever a total waste because people like to see, feel, smell, touch what they are thinking of buying. I tend to sell more product, and sign up new consultants when I send samples after speaking with them personally. That added action of speaking with them adds a lot to the 'formula' for success.

Samples can increase your business. We have done this with all our businesses. But I admit at times, It can run into money trying to send them out. I think you'll get a 50/50 response. But in the long run, they can pay off.

Samples might be a good idea, but I have had little luck with sending catalogs! I actually get a better response from orders and signups from the online info I send to those that are interested!

This is of course only true if you don't have a full listing of the products online. If not, then a catalog is the only way to see them!
